Release Notes/News Archive

July 17, 2003: 4.0.2 bug fix release made

This fixes several bugs reported on version 4.0.1 only new "feature" is the correction of the Snipe scoring system.  They had mis-documented their system in their class rules.  They corrected their published rules, and I've updated JavaScore accordingly.

Also, I STRONGLY recommend that you update your Java2 runtime to version 1.4.  Most of the more severe looking bugs reported in the newest JavaScore were related to the older version of Java2 not to JavaScore itself.  This is the last release that I anticipate will run on Java2 1.3 at all, and it is not well tested on that release.

For more details, see here.

June 3, 2003: 4.0 released

It focuses primarily on improvements for the handicapping side of the house.  Rating changes and division changes are more reliable.  You can now change division splits in an existing regatta.

For more details, see here.

February 24, 2003: Version 3.9.1

This is primarily a "service" release.  I fixed a few bugs, most notably, I corrected a problem in  the tiebreaker for Iceboat scoring, and updated the AVG calculation meet the 2001-2004 RRS A10(a) recommendation.  I also made some internal updates in preparation for improvements to division handling with handicap classes.  Click here for details.

Release 4.0 should be out in April.  Unless you need a feature in 3.9.1, I would not recommend bothering to update.

August 20, 2002: Version 3.1.3

More minor bug fixes: single race reports now sorted on points, problem in reports on qualifying fleets corrected, improvements in Insert/Delete in Finish Dialog.  Added new report: Scratch sheet by rating. Click here for details.

July 17, 2002: Version 3.1.2

Bug fixes in Handicap fleet scoring, improvements in finding default browser , preliminary support for Finnish, append entries when importing, improved language switching, other minor interface nits.  Click here for details.

June 5, 2002: Version 3.1.1

Implements the modified Low Point Scoring as changed by ISAF on June 1, 2002.  Also fixes some small glitches in 3.0.1.

April 22, 2002: Version 3.0.1

Version 3.0 has the major new feature of support for Fleets of classes and for Sub-divisions of classes.  Also new scoring systems and handicapping systems added: Snipe 2001-2004 system, PHRF Time on Time, Portsmouth, Dragon Ice Boat system.  See details on the new release here
